We’re just regular people adding fun to the sex lives of regular people since 1984. When Steve bought Adult Books II in 1984, we knew that regular people, especially women and couples, would enjoy our products and that they should be able to shop for these products in a store that wasn’t creepy and dirty. We came up with a name, exclusively adult, that we hoped would convey that we weren’t just another dirty bookstore (as they were called at the time). Our motto was “It doesn’t have to be dirty to be good”, and we kept the store clean and nice to make all of our customers’ shopping experience pleasant and fun.

In 1992, we expanded to our current location. When you walk into our store, you’ll be greeted by soft, sexy and funny, and you’ll be able to gradually work your way into down and dirty if you so desire. You’re not confronted with hardcore as soon as you walk in the door. It has always been our goal to insulate the customers who simply want to pick up a bottle of quality personal lubricant and buy a sexy outfit for a special evening from the more hardcore products that maybe offensive to them.

As more and more products became available, we’ve adapted our layout to display as much as we could. In 2004, we remodeled the store, dramatically expanding our video titles, especially in DVD’s, and nearly doubling our selection of toys and novelties while updating and modernizing our design.

But there is so much out there to offer our customers, and “bricks and mortar” has its limits. There’s always the internet, but buying adult products on-line can be as scary an experience as walking into one of the dirty bookstores of the 70’s and 80’s.
